Welcome to Mapesbury Dell

The Dell is Northwest London's best kept secret. An award-winning park, it is the jewel in the heart of Mapesbury, a truly magical garden hidden behind a row of residential houses. Once you have discovered it, you'll keep coming back.

It is open to the public during daylight hours. Although the Dell is small, there is something for everyone to enjoy: a superb play area for children, a pond teeming with wildlife, green lawns for summer lazing, picnic tables and benches, stunning gardens. It is simply a wonderful place to come with the kids or just sit, stroll, listen to the birds and enjoy some peace.

But it is much more than a just a pretty park. We have annual events such as the popular Wild Day in the summer, a Midsummer Open Air Opera Evening, a Back to School children's party in September, festive fun and carol-singing at Christmas, as well as a regular Gardening Club. All our events have free admission so that they are accessible and inclusive.

And we are always busy with ongoing projects.

The Dell wasn't always like this. Before its regeneration in 2005, it was an unwelcoming, derelict piece of wasteland. Read all about it in Our Story.

Now the Dell is a true people's park, run by the community through us, Mapesbury Dell Trust, and kept beautiful by the local volunteers who love it. You too can become a member (it's free) and get involved in our projects and activities.
